Basketball Game Preview: Creekside Knights vs. Sandalwood Saints

The Creekside Knights will challenge the Sandalwood Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Creekside will be strutting in after a victory while Sandalwood will be coming in after a defeat.

Creekside took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They breezed by First Coast to the tune of 65-25. With the Knights ahead 36-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Maddie Rolander had a dynamite game for Creekside, going 9 for 19 en route to 25 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Rolander a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cami Waters, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Sandalwood came up short against Fletcher on Friday and fell 40-29. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Senators are ranked 190th).

Sandalwood has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Creekside, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

Creekside strolled past Sandalwood in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 45-27. Does Creekside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sandalwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
