Soccer Game Preview: Stonington vs. Killingly

The Stonington Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Killingly Trailbazers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Killingly took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Stonington, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Stonington sidestepped Coginchaug Regional for a 2-1 win.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Killingly was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 2-0 to Wheeler. Killingly's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Killingly's loss dropped their record down to 8-3-3. As for Stonington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Stonington took their victory against Killingly in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
