Volleyball Recap: Meadow Heights Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Paul Lutheran on Friday, Meadow Heights came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Bell City Cubs on Monday, falling 3-0. The Panthers have struggled against the Cubs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meadow Heights was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Bell City work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 26-24, 25-10.

Jaycee Shelton paced Meadow Heights' offense, picking up 11 kills. Shelton got some help from Maci Long and her 13 assists. Rylann Yamnitz controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Meadow Heights' loss dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Bell City, they pushed their record up to 25-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Meadow Heights will square off against Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bell City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
