It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Farina South Central with a 54-48 win. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was the better team in the second half.
It was another big night for AJ Radloff, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Gage Lorton, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Neoga came up short against Farina South Central on Tuesday and fell 38-28. Neoga has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Neoga, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was able to grind out a solid victory over Neoga in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 60-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
