Volleyball Recap: Gate City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Twin Springs last Thursday, Gate City came back down to earth. The Blue Devils came up short against the Ridgeview Wolfpack on Wednesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolfpack this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-20, 25-16.

Cacey McDavid paced Gate City's offense, picking up eight kills. McDavid got some help from Sophie Webb and her 17 assists. Ava Jennings controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Gate City dropped their record down to 7-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Ridgeview, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gate City is set to square off against their familiar foe Abingdon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ridgeview will face off against rival Central Wise at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
