Weatherford has gone a perfect 4-0 against South Grand Prairie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Weatherford Kangaroos are taking a road trip to take on the South Grand Prairie Warriors at 1:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Weatherford has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while South Grand Prairie will arrive with three straight wins.

Weatherford's tournament run continued when they took on Davenport on Saturday. Weatherford fell just short of Davenport by a score of 7-6.

Brayden Lara was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Kaddilac Galindo also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Even though they lost, Weatherford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie beat Cedar Hill 4-1 on Saturday.

Matthew Brinkman looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, South Grand Prairie's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Carter, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

South Grand Prairie pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Weatherford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Weatherford came out on top in a nail-biter against South Grand Prairie in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Does Weatherford have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Grand Prairie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
