After flying high against Paint Rock last Thursday, Irion County came back down to earth. The Hornets had to suffer through a 62-16 loss at the hands of the Water Valley Wildcats. The Hornets have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Irion County lost on Friday, don't look at Hagen Turman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 70 yards and one score.

Irion County's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Water Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
