Basketball Recap: James 'Boogie' Sellers and Connor Holmes Secure Win for Norfolk Christian

Norfolk Christian won the last time they faced Hampton Roads Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Norfolk Christian Ambassadors managed a 52-47 win over the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ambassadors.

Leading Norfolk Christian to victory were Connor Holmes and James 'Boogie' Sellers. Holmes dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards, while Sellers posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Norfolk Christian is undefeated when Holmes posts ten or more boards, but 7-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Landon Mcnamara, who put up four points and five assists.

Norfolk Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Norfolk Christian's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 11-12. As for Hampton Roads Academy, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Coming up, Norfolk Christian and Walsingham Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Hampton Roads Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
