It was a good run, but Salem unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbia Eagles. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Salem couldn't quite close it out.

Salem's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-2. As for Columbia, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will welcome Carlyle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaminade at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
