            Softball Recap: Cedarcrest Red Wolves vs. East Valley Red Devils        
        
		
        
        
            With a playoff win on the line, Cedarcrest rose to the challenge  on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-6  victory over the East Valley Red Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Red Wolves have posted  since April 19, 2024.
 Lily Rafferty spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Maddie Davis, who  went a perfect 5-for-5 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. Those  five  hits gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Paityn Craig, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with two  RBI.
 Cedarcrest  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Valley only posted  an  OBP of  .385.
Cedarcrest's victory bumped their record up to 10-13-1. As for East Valley,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 17-7-1.
 Cedarcrest has  already played their next  matchup (against Woodland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. East Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
