Baseball Recap: Chapman Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Chapman won the last time they faced Concordia and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Irish came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Irish.

Cooper Lewis made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aven Woods, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Connor Cote-Boss, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Chapman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Chapman's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Concordia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season.

Chapman will have a chance to go back-to-back against Concordia: the pair will be back at it again later today.
