On Monday, Jackson-Reed faced Coolidge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Jackson-Reed Tigers secured a 70-65 W over the Coolidge Colts. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won nine in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson-Reed to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lane Mahan, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. That's the most points Mahan has posted since back in December of 2024. Pete Newman was another key player, putting up 15 points and five assists.

Jackson-Reed was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coolidge only racked up three assists.

Coolidge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Quintin Cooper, who went 7 of 17 en route to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makiah Gray, who went 8 for 18 to rack up 18 points.

Jackson-Reed pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45.5 points. As for Coolidge, their record now sits at 14-6.

Jackson-Reed has already played their next game, a 75-17 win against Anacostia on the 31st. As for Coolidge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-45 victory against Ballou on the 29th.
