Baseball Recap: Goldthwaite's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After only one run in their last match, Goldthwaite made sure to put some runs up on the board against Moody on Thursday. The Goldthwaite Eagles had just enough and edged out the Moody Bearcats 10-9. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Jack Wetzig was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Hagen Greenway was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Goldthwaite's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Goldthwaite didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-3 loss against Rio Vista on the 1st. As for Moody, they have also already played their next game, an 11-2 defeat against Johnson City on the 28th.
