Basketball Recap: Mora Takes a Loss

After flying high against Escalante last Saturday, Mora came back down to earth. The contest between the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes and the Mesa Vista Trojans didn't end well, with the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes falling 55-37. The Rangers/Rangerettes haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

It was another big night for Tana Lopez, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Mesa Vista. The game was Lopez's seventh in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Boies, who posted two points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

Mora's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Mesa Vista, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Mora has already played their next match, a 57-20 loss against Penasco on the 8th. As for Mesa Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-46 win against McCurdy on the 8th.
