Baseball Game Preview: Kecoughtan Warriors vs. Hampton Crabbers

For the second straight game, Kecoughtan will face off against Hampton. The Warriors will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Crabbers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Kecoughtan 3.5, Hampton 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Kecoughtan came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Hampton, falling 11-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this matchup were averaging 3.5 runs allowed.

Kecoughtan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Hampton, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Hampton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Kecoughtan fell to 11-1.
