Basketball Game Preview: Emerald Vikings vs. Greenwood Eagles

Emerald is 0-10 against Greenwood since December of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Emerald Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the Greenwood Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Greenwood is hoping to do what Crescent couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Emerald's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Emerald claimed a resounding 65-38 win over Crescent. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Greenwood challenged Greenwood Christian on Saturday. Greenwood strolled past Greenwood Christian with points to spare, taking the game 73-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Greenwood has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Emerald, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
