Gilmer County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. Everything went their way against the Calhoun Red Devils as they made off with a 46-20 win. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Calhoun lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brennen Carpenter, who rushed for 116 yards, and also threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Gavin Hicks, who picked up 81 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Gilmer County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 42-14 loss against Braxton County on the 5th. As for Calhoun, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 34-14 win against Richwood on the 5th.
