Basketball Game Preview: Vallejo Redhawks vs. Pinole Valley Spartans

Vallejo and Pinole Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Vallejo Redhawks will be playing at home against the Pinole Valley Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Vallejo turned things around against Swett on Wednesday. They took down the Warriors 72-53.

Meanwhile, Pinole Valley was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 62-61 to El Cerrito.

Pinole Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Vallejo, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

Vallejo came out on top in a nail-biter against Pinole Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 69-66. Will Vallejo repeat their success, or does Pinole Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
