West Jessamine and Mercer County are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Colts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
West Jessamine made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Boyle County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Colts put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 13-7 win on Tuesday.

Michaela Tate made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, West Jessamine got a massive performance out of Addi Vahle, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Hobgood, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Mercer County hadn't done well against East Jessamine recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Titans came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 13-9. The game was the first time the Titans have beaten the Jaguars on their field since June 1, 2021.
The team relied heavily on Natalie Johnson, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jaley Bowman, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Mercer County pushed their record up to 8-5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for West Jessamine, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
West Jessamine came up short against Mercer County when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 5-1. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
