Softball Recap: Mechanicsburg Falls to Springfield in First Game of Season

Mechanicsburg unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 13-1 to the Springfield Wildcats on Tuesday.

Mechanicsburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery McDowell, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coincidentally, Mechanicsburg and Springfield will both be playing Urbana the next time they take the field. Mechanicsburg will host Urbana at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Springfield will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
