Basketball Game Preview: Proviso West Panthers vs. Downers Grove North Trojans

Proviso West is 0-10 against Downers Grove North since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Proviso West Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Downers Grove North Trojans at 7:30 p.m.

Proviso West is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game back in December of 2024. They came up short against Proviso East, falling 55-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Pirates since February 8, 2020.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Downers Grove North, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 38-31 victory over Glenbard West on Tuesday.

Downers Grove North's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Proviso West, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Proviso West lost to Downers Grove North at home by a decisive 53-37 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Proviso West, Kaitlyn Parker (who went 7 for 13 on her way to 18 points in addition to five assists and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
