Volleyball Recap: Tate Beats Crestview for Their Fourth Straight Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tate had no problem doing just that on Monday. They blew past the Crestview Bulldogs 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Aggies sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.

Torrie Garrett paced Tate's offense, picking up 20 kills. Garrett got some help from Bailie Merritt and her 41 assists. Garrett was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the loss, Crestview still got an impressive performance from Kelsey Griffin, who had 24 digs and two assists. Griffin is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 19 games she's played.

Tate's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Crestview, they dropped their record down to 13-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Tate will venture away from home to challenge Gulf Breeze at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crestview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
