Soccer Game Preview: Covenant Academy vs. Central Fellowship Christian Academy

Covenant Academy hasn't had much luck against Central Fellowship Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rams will face off against the Lancers at 6:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Covenant Academy came up short against Windsor Academy and fell 5-3. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Covenant Academy came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Windsor Academy are ranked 399th).

Meanwhile, Central Fellowship Christian Academy entered their tilt with First Preparatory Christian Academy on Thursday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They never let the Highlanders get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering Central Fellowship Christian Academy have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting First Preparatory Christian Academy from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Lois Tanner led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Central Fellowship Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-1-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five games. As for Covenant Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Covenant Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Central Fellowship Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
