Volleyball Recap: EMMA LYON Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Horizon Prep

Escondido Charter won the last time they faced Horizon Prep and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tigers came out on top against the Lions by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Escondido Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from EMMA LYON, who had nine assists and six aces. Those six aces gave LYON a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of ALAINA CASTRONOVO, who had 11 digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Escondido Charter was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in seven consecutive matches.

Escondido Charter's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Horizon Prep, they moved to 8-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Escondido Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Valley Center on the 13th. As for Horizon Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Calipatria on the 13th.
