Baseball Recap: Clayton Comets vs. Fuquay - Varina Bengals
Clayton was forced to take a big defeat against they on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Friday. They came out on top against the Fuquay - Varina Bengals by a score of 8-4. This was a revenge game for the Comets: when they faced off against the Bengals on Tuesday, they had to take a 8-1 loss.
Gabe Schellinger looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jamison Lynch was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Evans, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
