Basketball Game Preview: Urban Blues vs. San Marin Mustangs

Having just played yesterday, the Urban Blues will jump right back in to play the San Marin Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Urban is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Archie Williams just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 51-41 to the Peregrine Falcons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blues came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Peregrine Falcons are ranked 311th).

Meanwhile, San Marin ended up a good deal behind Junipero Serra on Friday and lost 66-48.

Urban's record is now 9-3. As for San Marin, their record now sits at 5-4.

Urban skirted past San Marin 65-62 in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was San Marin's Tyson Geraci, who went 7 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points and five rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for Urban to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
