North Hardin headed into their last match having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but Thomas Nelson let them put that streak behind them. North Hardin put the hurt on Thomas Nelson with a sharp 13-5 win on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Justice Hamilton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Hamilton was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Drake Bell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Marian Jaudon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
North Hardin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomas Nelson only posted an OBP of .371.
Meanwhile, Central Hardin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 8-4 to Elizabethtown.
Kellen Brandenburg was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Price, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Central Hardin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
