Hillsboro's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past McClain 10-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won five games in a row.

Camryn Spruell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Madison Dearmon was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Isabelle Brunck was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Hillsboro hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clinton-Massie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Goshen with a sharp 8-2 win on Wednesday.
Kalli Jodrey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Sydney Doyle was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Emma Crombie also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Clinton-Massie pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Hillsboro, their record now sits at 16-3.
Clinton-Massie's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hillsboro has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Clinton-Massie, though, as they've only averaged .335. Will they be able to contain Hillsboro's hitters?
Hillsboro might still be hurting after the 19-0 defeat they got from Clinton-Massie when the teams last played back in April of 2017. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
