Volleyball Recap: Hughesville Falls to Wyalusing Valley in First Game of Season

Hughesville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Wyalusing Valley Rams on Saturday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Hughesville ultimately came up short, they really made Wyalusing Valley work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 26-24, 25-15.

Hughesville will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Midd-West at 5:30 p.m. on September 2. As for Wyalusing Valley, they will face off against Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Rams their first taste of in-conference action this season.
