Basketball Recap: Russell Find Success

While Russell has struggled at home with six straight losses, that wasn't the case on Monday thanks to Kelvie Reeves. The Russell Broncos enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over the Ellis Railroaders thanks in part to Reeves, who went 9 for 12 en route to 21 points and six steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Jasmine Jefferson, who posted six points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Russell's record now sits at 6-9. As for Ellis, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Russell won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Plainville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Russell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Ellis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trego at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
