Victory Baptist had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 61-51 win over the Bible Baptist Christian Eagles on Thursday. For the Warrior, this counts as revenge for the 59-52 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Myles Lewis-Taggart was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 43% from the field on his way to 26 points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrell Odom, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Bible Baptist Christian still got an impressive performance from Logan Hamilton, who posted 25 points. Another player making a difference was Mikahil Mathieu, who put up 12 points.

Bible Baptist Christian's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Victory Baptist has already played their next game, a 65-63 win against Fideles Christian on the 21st. As for Bible Baptist Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Peoples Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 2nd.
