Basketball Recap: Christian Barnes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northern Nash over West Linn

Northern Nash has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. The matchup between them and the West Linn Lions didn't end well, with the Northern Nash Knights falling 71-53. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 80th in North Carolina, while the Lions are ranked third in Oregon).

Northern Nash's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Barnes, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Rosser, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Northern Nash's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for West Linn, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Northern Nash will be taking part in a tournament against GRACE Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Northern Nash is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.4 points per game this season. As for West Linn, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Canby at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
