Recap: O'Neill Eagles vs. Wagner Red Raiders
After a string of five wins, the O'Neill Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wagner. O'Neill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wagner apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why O'Neill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Drew Morrow. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with seven steals. Morrow hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Trevor Alder, who scored ten points along with four steals.
O'Neill's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-5. As for Wagner, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. O'Neill will take on Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wagner, they will head out on the road to face off against Burke at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Burke is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
