Softball Recap: Glide Beats Coquille for Their 11th Straight Win

Glide had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They put the hurt on the Coquille Red Devils with a sharp 15-5 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 17-1 victory on Friday.

Aryanna Belloir was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Geiger, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Brionna Miller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Glide kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Glide pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Coquille, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Glide didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-3 loss against Douglas on the 29th. Coquille has also already played their next game (against South Umpqua), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
