Volleyball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Dell Rapids

Mitchell faced Dell Rapids in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Kernels took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Quarriers. The Kernels were not able to make up for their loss to the Quarriers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Audrey Miller paced Mitchell's offense, picking up six kills. Miller got some help from Addie Siemsen and her seven assists. Siemsen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mitchell fell to 2-1. As for Dell Rapids, the win (which was their 12th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Sturgis Brown on the 30th. As for Dell Rapids, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Spearfish on the 30th.
