Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Central and Carmel squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Central had to settle for second. They fell 58-49 to the Carmel Padres. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carmel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Warren Blut, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 21 points and five boards. What's more, Blut also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Simeon Brown was another key player, shooting 46% from the field on his way to 16 points.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Carmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carmel, they have already played their next contest, a 67-55 defeat against Christian Brothers on the 6th.
