Baseball Recap: South River Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

South River won the last time they faced Piscataway and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Rams walked away with a 9-4 win over the Chiefs. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

James Zsorey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Zsorey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Borrero, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hunter Krainski, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

South River's record is now 11-5. As for Piscataway, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-12 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South River will welcome North Brunswick at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piscataway, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Perth Amboy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
