Soccer Recap: Silsbee Takes a Loss

Silsbee managed to keep up with Bridge City until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Silsbee Tigers came up short against the Bridge City Cardinals, falling 4-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in February.

Silsbee's goal came courtesy of Jeremiah Read, who's now up to seven this season.

Silsbee's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Bridge City, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silsbee will take on Lumberton at 7:00 p.m. on March 14th. As for Bridge City, they will challenge Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Little Cypress-Mauriceville: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bridge City has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
