Soccer Game Preview: Whitinsville Christian vs. Blackstone-Millville

The Whitinsville Christian Crusaders will take on the Blackstone-Millville Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Whitinsville Christian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Whitinsville Christian fell victim to Hopedale and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 4-0 to the Blue Raiders. While losing is never fun, Whitinsville Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Hopedale are ranked 126th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Blackstone-Millville brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They blew past Southbridge 5-1 on Friday. The score was close at halftime, but Blackstone-Millville pulled away in the second half with three goals.

Blackstone-Millville's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7-1. As for Whitinsville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Whitinsville Christian beat Blackstone-Millville 4-2 in their previous matchup back in September of 2021. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
