Baseball Game Preview: Childress Bobcats vs. Bushland Falcons

Childress is 1-8 against Bushland since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Childress will look to defend their home field against Bushland at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Childress is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since February 22nd on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Dalhart 7-6.

Meanwhile, Bushland got the win against River Road on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-5. Considering the Falcons have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryson Jimenez was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ty Askins, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Childress' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Bushland, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
