Recap: Caledonia-Mumford Raiders vs. Wheatland-Chili Wildcats

The Caledonia-Mumford Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wheatland-Chili. While losing is never fun, Caledonia-Mumford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 646th, while Wheatland-Chili is ranked 67th).

Loss or not, Caledonia-Mumford got some senior leadership from Nathan Doll and Donny Peet. Doll scored 14 points along with two steals, while Peet. scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.

Wheatland-Chili's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Louden Thrush led the charge by scoring 15 points. That's the first time this season that Thrush scored 15 or more points. Jaden Schwenebraten was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Caledonia-Mumford has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Wheatland-Chili, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Caledonia-Mumford will head out on the road to square off against Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wheatland-Chili, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Webber at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Webber is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
