Basketball Recap: Capital Piles Up the Points Against Minico

Capital saw some tournament action on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Minico Spartans 76-48. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Capital's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.4 points per game. As for Minico, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Capital and Bishop Kelly will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Capital knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Bishop Kelly likes a good challenge. As for Minico, they and Mountain View will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Mountain View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.
