Basketball Recap: Nash Central Drops Season-High Score on Wake Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nash Central). They walked away with a 75-63 win over the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Nash Central also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2019.

Nash Central was led to victory by Gerald Davis and Markell Jasper. Davis went 11 for 14 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Jasper almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine assists. Those nine assists gave Jasper a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kameron Tucker, who posted 13 points and six boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Nash Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Wake Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Paxton Coon, who went 10 of 18 from beyond the arc on his way to 41 points. Coon's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Avery, who had 14 points.

Nash Central's record is now 2-7. As for Wake Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Nash Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-47 defeat against Rocky Mount on the 3rd. As for Wake Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-44 victory against Wilson Christian Academy on the 3rd.
