Soccer Recap: Marlin Comes Up Short

Marlin lost against Mexia back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marlin Bulldogs fell just short of the Mexia Black Cats by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Marlin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Mexia, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marlin will challenge Harmony Science Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Marlin will be up against Harmony Science Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.87 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mexia, they will square off against Meyer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mexia is facing Meyer at the right time seeing as Meyer is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
