Baseball Game Preview: Rushford-Peterson Trojans vs. Chatfield Gophers

The Rushford-Peterson Trojans will face off against the Chatfield Gophers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rushford-Peterson will be strutting in after a win while Chatfield will be coming in after a defeat.

Rushford-Peterson barely beat Wabasha-Kellogg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Falcons on Monday.

Meanwhile, Chatfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of La Crescent.

Rushford-Peterson's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Chatfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Rushford-Peterson came up short against Chatfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 9-6. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
