Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Waterloo

Waterloo took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Marshall, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates won by a set and slipped past the Cardinals 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on four straight.

Waterloo was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Lilli Lauersdorf paced Waterloo's offense, picking up 21 kills. Lauersdorf got some help from Mya Novak and her 25 assists. Paytn Hauptli controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Waterloo's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Marshall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.

Waterloo has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Almond-Bancroft on the 20th. As for Marshall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Rio on the 20th.
