Basketball Recap: Hamshire-Fannett Gets the Win

Hamshire-Fannett took a 75-point loss the last time they faced off against Shepherd, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns skirted past the Shepherd Pirates 47-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Shepherd lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Braydon Mettlen, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Brayden White was another key player, putting up nine points along with five boards and three steals.

Hamshire-Fannett pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Shepherd, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8.

Hamshire-Fannett and Krum will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in Krum's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Shepherd, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-59 victory against East Chambers on the 26th.
