Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washburn). They blew past the Apostolic Christian Academy Flames 21-3 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Riley Munsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Washburn let Matthew Harville and Landry Coffey run wild. Harville went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Coffey scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That triple marked the first that Harville hit this season. Ayden Davis was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Washburn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Washburn's record is now 3-5. As for Apostolic Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Washburn will take on Maryville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Washburn's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Maryville Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Apostolic Christian Academy, they will challenge Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
