Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 27-27 at halftime, Central was not quite Webster's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Webster Warriors by a score of 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Braves have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Webster's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Kimble, who went 7 of 17 en route to 23 points and three steals. Kimble is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Deroin, who posted eight points along with 16 boards and three blocks.

Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Webster, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Central has already played their next contest, a 64-62 defeat against Oklahoma City S on the 1st. As for Webster, they will face off against Summit Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Webster surely won't give up without a fight.
