Softball Game Preview: Allen East Mustangs vs. Ada Bulldogs

The Allen East Mustangs will head out to square off against the Ada Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Allen East has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight defeats, while Ada will come in with five straight victories.

Ridgemont hit Allen East with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Gophers.

Allen East saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sondra Clum, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Another was Maddie Miller, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Ada got themselves on the board against Van Buren on Wednesday, but Van Buren never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Black Knights. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ada's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Allen East, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Allen East suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Ada when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
